about

A worship song of lament for this time of lockdown, when Christians can't meet together with their church fellowship. A song of hope, looking forward to a time when we can meet together again. I wanted to write a worship song for the times, that recognises that things aren't great right now. I believe God made us to live in fellowship with each other and not being able to meet together as church is difficult. But I also wanted to recognise that this time is not forever. We will be able to meet again and worship together and we have hope for that time. And when we can meet, what a celebration that will be!

Taken from the Album He> (He is Greater) coming Summer 2020.

lyrics

When troubles are hard
And the days are long
And your children cry out to you in misery

But we trust that even though we walk the darkest path
Your light will overcome the dark at last

Joy comes, joy is coming in the morning
Hold on, this too shall pass
Dawn breaks after the storm is gone, so hold on

This is not how you made us to be
Created to be in community
But it’s true you’re with us as we walk the darkest path
Your light will overcome the dark at last

The time will come when we can meet together again
And we will praise, we will praise, we will celebrate
But until that day we still chose to say
That you are king and you are Lord, Lord over all

Joy comes, joy is coming in the morning
Hold on, this too shall pass
One day we will be raised with you in glory
We will hold on
We will hold on
So hold on
Hold on
