about

Gather//Together is a song of welcome and is about how God loves it when we come together to worship him. It is inspired by Psalm 5, Psalm 24, Psalm 100 and Galatians 3. It is a sort of dancy disco/rock song with a funky horn section.

lyrics

v1
Open up the gates, open up the doors
And come together with the glorious king
You’re there with open arms when we run to you
The father welcoming his children in

It makes no difference who we are
We’re here today to sing your praise

Chorus
We gather together for we are one
From the east and west we have come
We gather together for we are one
In the name of Jesus we have come

v2
You’re our amazing God, welcoming everyone
We come together and it’s your delight
No matter who we are, no matter where we’re from
Let the party last all night!

We’ve heard the calling of your voice
So we will make a joyful noise

(repeat chorus)

We’ve heard the calling of your voice, so we will make a joyful noise
It makes no difference who we are, we’re here right now to sing your praise

(repeat chorus x2)

We are one
